In the sequence of life, it just isn't natural for a parent to outlive their children.

When a child is faced with a certain death, any parent would do all they could to stop the inevitable. The question is, when does postponing death go too far?

Anna Fitzgerald (Abigail Breslin, Nim's Island) was designed to keep her sister Kate (Sofia Vassilieva, Eloise at the Plaza) alive.

Her sole purpose is to donate whatever her sister needs to live. But, when Anna refuses to give up her kidney, the family goes into a frenzy, always asking "Why," instead of taking a step back and finding the real reason for the younger daughter's rebellion.

Rising talents, Breslin, Vassilieva and Evan Ellingson (CSI: Miami) portray siblings in the Fitzgerald family. Vassilieva, who plays the ailing, leukemia-ridden older sister, takes on the role with dedication.

Having acted primarily on the television show, Medium, Vassilieva seems to have made her transition to film brilliantly.

Breslin, at only 13 years old, is already a household name and is sure to become one of Hollywood's most dedicated stars.

Her interaction with A-Listers such as Cameron Diaz, who plays the over-protective mother Sara, is impeccable. However well these actresses interact with each other, the family is brought together by son Jesse (Ellingson) and father Brian (Jason Patric) who, as a team, seem to unite the family and patch up holes that time produced.

My Sister's Keeper is a movie that will make movie watchers rethink morals, values and the way our society lives life. All in all, it was well produced, painfully real, and brutally honest about the realities of losing a child.

This movie proved that sometimes judgment is clouded by emotion, but in the end, everything ties up for a reason.
