The bronze Mustangs of Las Colinas are illuminated at night in William's Square.

The Dallas Metroplex is home to amazing entertainment opportunities. Whether it's a concert at the American Airlines Center or a low-key comedy show, it is hard to be bored in this town. Below are a few concerts, events and places you will enjoy checking out this summer.

Dallas Farmers Market

The Dallas Farmers Market is a daily market of freshly grown produce in the Metroplex. The market is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., 7 days a week and is located in downtown Dallas at 1010 South Pearl Street. For the best deals, go late in the day! www.dallasfarmersmarket.org

Dr. Pepper Star Center Ice Arena

There are five Dr. Pepper Star Center Ice-Skating Arenas in the Dallas Metroplex. These newly built and well-kept facilities draw in thousands of skaters each year, as well as play host to the Dallas Stars. Adult admission is $7 and skate rentals are $3.

Periodically, there are special discounts online, so be sure to keep updated at www.drpepperstarcenter.com or call 214-Go- Skate for more information.

Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor

If you are looking for a day of nonstop adrenaline, check out Six Flags in Arlington. With over fifty rides and one of the tallest steel roller coasters in the United States (The Titan), Six Flags is the prime spot for action.

After riding the roller coasters, swim over to Hurricane Harbor. Hurricane Harbor has a total of 24 top-of-the-line water-powered rides and slides as well as a lazy river. Buy your tickets online at www.sixflags.com. Adults pay kid's price into both Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags when they purchase online.

Taste of Dallas

On Friday July 10, restaurants from around the Metroplex will be practically giving away the best food in Dallas with samples costing between $2-$5. Check out www.tasteofdallas.com for more news and info.

William's Square

Just off O'Connor Road in Las Colinas, William's Square is known for its majestic fountains and rustic mustangs. These bronze sculptures were made public in 1984 and have been a focal point for the Las Colinas area ever since.

At night, lights illuminate the water, cascading over the granite walls creating a serene atmosphere. Within the West Tower of Williams Square is an exhibit dedicated to the famed Mustangs.

Included is a 20-minute video as well as a gift shop. The exhibit is open from Wed-Sat, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Telephone numbers and directions can be found at www.mustangsoflascolinas.com.
