Thumbs Up to friendly staff at the Welcome Desk and Admissions.

Getting started or continuing education at a new college can be pretty intimidating, but the helpful staff at the Welcome Desk and Admissions make that transition a lot easier.

Whether it is a question about where to get started or what classes you should be in, they are there with a smile to take care of students.

Great job, team!

Thumbs Down to defacing school property with decals.

It's nice to get the word out about what events are going on around campus, but placing logos and decals on campus property that are hard to get off is not the way it should be done.

Stickers and fliers should be placed in appropriate places for students to see. Not on or in areas that can do damage.

Thumbs Up to summer school participants.

Pool parties, Ranger games and BBQs are summer favorites, and attending summer school might make you miss out on these events, but good summer students persevere!

It takes hard working, dedicated students to pass on that day trip to Six Flags, so great job and keep up the hard work.

Thumbs Down to the cancellation of Camp Gonzalez.

Due a low turnout (eight players), the summer soccer camp held by Coach Adrian Gonzalez was cancelled.

Participants were disappointed to hear the news, and we're hoping that next year there will be a better turnout.

Thumbs Up to keeping the school nice and cool in 100-degree heat.

Nothing is worse than trying to escape the Texas heat, but here at NLC that isn't hard to do. The school is always nice and cool, immediately getting rid of the sweat on your brow.

Thanks for keeping the AC pumped for your students and faculty.

You guys are cool.
