A former North Lake College student was recently selected to the First Team All-American in volleyball. Middle blocker Nicole McBrayer was only one of 14 women in the country to make the team selected from the best of the best in Division III.
“In order to receive All-American, McBrayer had to have great stats, be the top player in her region and nominated through the region,” Coach Steve Cummings said.
McBrayer not only had to have the great stats to make the team but had to succeed academically as well. Due to the guidelines set for NLC players, she was required to maintain at least a 3.0 to gain consideration for the All-American team.
This is not the only honor that McBrayer has earned in her career at NLC. She has also been awarded All-Region and First Team All-Conference for the Metro Athletic Conference.
“Winning All-American will open many doors to four-year schools,” Cummings said.
McBrayer transferred to Tarrant County College this spring.
